Division dedicated to the production of raw material for the phycocolloid industry. PSW takes care of the extraction, the monitoring and management of the recollected species as well as the processing and quality control up to the exportation. The species actually used as raw material are:
- Chondracanthus chamissoi (carragenan).
- Gracilariopsis lemanaeformis (agar-agar).
- Lessonia nigrescens (alginate).
- Lessonia trabeculata (alginate).
- Macrocystis pyrífera (alginate).
- Macrocystis integrifolia (alginate).
Raw material product for the alginate industry. The species exploited are: Macrocystis spp and Lessonia spp.
Dehydrated GigartinaRaw material product for the carrageenan industry. The specie used is Chondracanthus chamissoi, source of Kappa and Lambda carrageenan. PSW controls the processes of the extraction, monitoring of the seaweed natural fields, quality of the product, phycocolloid yield, humidity of the end product and the selection of the raw material.
